It comes up from below
the thought that works to surface
like an itch
and sets my face to twitching
in an effort to prevent
my traitorous mouth
from snitching
swallow
thoughts that bubble up
from hidden places hollow
don't share these thoughts
with anybody

And the swallow builds her nest
in caves
from pieces of the life
she saves
