Anyway to make a long story short, yes, I did sleep with him, and I found out
he had girlfriend in probably the worst possible way. (She walked in on us
screwing in his bed) Anyway, now he's pissed at me like it's all my fault,
and he has been downgrading my papers. Before I got an A and an A- and these
last two I got a D and a D-. I tried to talk to my professor and all he said
was that ifd I had a problem, I would need to work it out with my TA.

Well, I called him last night, you know, to settle things out and stuff, and
he admitted that he was being a dick and all. He said it wasn't fair for him
to blame me and that he would take a look at my papers and regrade them.
Apparently his girlfriend broke up with him and he wants to get together. I
mean I really like him, and at least he was cheating with me and not on me,
if that makes any sense. Besides, if I say yes, I'll ace the class for sure,
and then I can dea l with him more seriously after the quarter is over and
dump him or whatever.

something that has been bothering me alot lately that I havn't really told

Sleeping with a TA just to get a high grade is really degraded and stupid.
It's unfair to the other students because it creates an additional criterion
that they cannot benefit from -- unless they're whorish enough to leap into
the sack with this jerk as well -- and it violates the purpose of school,
doesn't it? Why don't you just drop the lousy class, Spoon, rather than
capitalizing on this TA's character defects? I don't think I'll ever be able
to take you very seriously as a person (even if Misha is wrong about you not
existing, and I find his accusations pretty compelling) if you don't take your
own education seriously. You're a cheater and a scammer, and I think that's
wretched and pathetic.
I also find it rather incredible that "Spoon" should mention all this for
the purpose of evoking "sympathy." Perhaps "Spoon" is actually moronically
insecure enough to get a sense of thrill of impressing the thirteen year olds
here. If that's the case, Spoon, why don't you just devirginize them all?
Maybe they'll give you something for it. Maybe you'll get aient sense of
having had a meaningful impact on someone's life.
But more likely I think is the possibility that some brainless,
uncreative little clump of a person is spewing a little soap-opera-ish
fiction. Sitting in front of his or her terminal with some stale popcorn,
maybe some Penthouse letters, and a really obnoxious giggle.

the worst of a person. Spoon didn't do this which is alot better than you.
Your vilification and revilement reveal an insecurity, having the gnawing
desire to prove people inferior to you. This is easy to detect, easy to see.
It is gratuitous and unsuccessful. What Spoon did may have been wrong, but it
wasn't malevolent and she did nothing to you personally. You use the term
"degraded" and you are a hypocrite; you degraded her. You don't know her, her
life, the TA, you've never seen the class, and with your inadequate knowledge
you disdainfully judge her with that one instance. Anybody who speaks so
disdainfully, their judgement is not worth very much. And on this flimsy basis
you presumptuously condemn Spoon?
You are in error. You are more deluded than a slave trader rationalizing
his behavior and treatment of a slave. Because that was real life and legally
then, even though it was unjust, he did have power; you have none. You are
deluded to such an great extent and it is laughable. You in in your own little
obscure world utter your gibberish to a person that you know nothing of her
face, and lacking knowledge you expect her to take you seriously? Why should
she take you seriously? Now this is a response that I want to read because it
would be amusing. Do you not see the blatant absurdity?

are cliches reality for you? You sound like a parent, except the only children

have joy in writing such delusionary things that have no basis, except the
decree of your wasted imagination.

To all who care about the real convo in this room...I suggest you all go back
and actually READ Spoon's original message where she states that she not only
didn't "go out with him to get a good grade"...he was the one who had trouble
keeping the relationship professional. It's really comforting to know that
messages can be printed in such an exact medium and still be totally twisted
by the people who read it. UGH!

Spoon didn't say her reason for jumping in the sack was for the grade. She
didn't say why. She said she was hanging out with him because he was good at
his job.
Although there were a lot of things going wrong here, the worst was this
clown grading Spoon's papers better and worse because he liked or disliked her.
If I were you, Spoon, I'd try to get back to a position of mutual respect,
which is sounds like you've already done. (Confronting him with the fact his
girlfriend's not your problem, and the bogus D-.) Then stay the hell away
from him .
The guy is bad news because he would cheat on someone, and be changing your
grade. While everyone does poorly in some areas, these early indicators are
not promising.

I agree with Newstyle, that Mr. Happy's message was immature. Mr. Happy's
response was probably a knee-jerk reaction based on some real experience, in
which he did know the people involved.
I encountered another immature reaction today. I was walking my bike across
an intersection. A bicylist going the other way yelled at me "What's the
matter, sissy, can't ride your bike?". I was confused, and looked around,
unable to believe that a guy in what appeared to be late 20s would be saying
something so immature. But he said something else as he went by, so I was
sure it was him.
As I rode home, I thought about how grade school kids had tormented me, and
how I'd gradually learn to ignore people I didn't have respect for in high
school and college. This guy was still back there in grade school, weighed
down worrying about what other people are thinking about him when he doesn't
need to be.
Not that we are totally free. We still have to wear appropriate clothes at
work, weddings, dinners. But it's because of people we have respect for.
Yeah, brian, the message is so long.
