Luminary, I think the biggest problem here is that you take the chatter and repartee here too seriously. Almost all of it is meant in fun, and not to be taken to heart. What can be particularly offensive is when you take facetious chatter here seriously and then become preachy and moralistic (like above.) None of us here are interested in hurting others.
