This morning at about 9am Enright House was biffed. The entire message base
was scrolled. All rooms which aren't directory rooms have been killed.
Please recreate the ones you are interested in and try to pick up where
conversation left off.
To insure that this does not happen again, strict security measures have
been enacted. If you currently find yourself without write privs, send mail
to me with real name, real phone number, and you will be voice verified.
(hopefully) Since I remote sysop this BBS from Sacramento, I will not be
doing the voice verification becuase I cannot afford the LD charges right
now. Unless someone volunteers to do voice verification, there will be no
more new users with write privs on Enright House. It's better than getting
biffed again.
Zeylan tells me that Swagland and Bowhead were also biffed. As Bill Clinton
would say, "We're all in this together." (I wonder if getting biffed is like
getting ones taxes hiked? :-)
Regular users of the board should have write privs. But since I have
switched everyone to NO PRIVS and then switched selected people back to PRIVS,
you may have been missed if you do not call often. Do not necessarily
construe from not having privs that I don't trust you. Maybe I don't, but
maybe you were overlooked. Send me mail (or to sysop) and we can resolve the
matter.

Wow.. Swagland was really biffed up too. It crashed, and it took Swagman a
few days to correct the problem. I hope Zone X BBS doesn't get hit
either..huh..

I was the first caller after he biffed it the first time (before 8am). He
only biffed two rooms then, but two rooms is too many.

Swagland has been taking a lot of abuse lately. First we get biff users with
personal vendettas against other users (me being one of the attacked users),
and then the board is completely biffed. And tonight, it doesn't even connect.
Now, this slimeball is hitting other boards. This angers me.

There is NO excuse for willful destruction of a BBS -- which is essentially
what happened. Nothing anyone could have said would provide justification for
doing this. The fault lies entirely with the Board Biffer who is too childish
to deal with his problems any other way.
It's happened before, but it won't be happening again in the future. Not by
someone that hasn't been voice verified, anyway.

I've upgraded the software at Swagland with some modifications to deter
Biffer Idiots. It's unfortunate this sort of thing occurs, but then the world
is heavily populated with idiots in general and Telecom seems to have Biffer
Idiots in specific.

Unfortunately, Zeylan's right. Luminary and DDX have done more damage to
Swagland than any biff ever has. Biffs are usually easily eliminated, but you
two persist, like Telecom Termites. Swagland used to have character, but you
two have turned it into a digital sandbox.

. emotions. While it is a total bummer that our rooms and messages were

I just tried calling Haunted Manor... And Zeylan TWITTED ME! Have I ever done
anything to HM? No. Have I ever posted a biff message there? No. Do I usually
post about 2-3 messages when I call? Yes. And I know WHY he twitted me; it's
all because of that message where I simply told him to go back to hell.
So what does he do? He insults me and my friends incessantly, is it wrong
for me to be upset at this? Check out the caller log... He called, obviously
read the message, and logged off immediately afterward. He was on for one
minute.
Now what? Did he run crying, tears streaming down his cheeks, to his board
to immediately twit my account? Apparantly so. Hey, man, don't dish it if you
can't take it. You treat everybody like dirt, and when they defend themselves
you lock them out of your super-special board. It's probably futile to tell
you to go back to hell-- You must already be in it, to act like that.

you. I don't want to see you call my board, I don't want to bother with you.
You annoy me. I don't see why it should disturb you that you don't have
access to a system run by someone you hold in such contempt.

Oohhh.. Well, I'm not going to say anything about this. I doubt that I had
any troubled effect on Swagland. I think biffs are much more annoying. One
single message saying "Hehe.. yep" is MUCH harder to get annoyed by than
something like "I AM THE BIFF GOD I AM A COMPUTER PROGRAM DESINGED TO BIFF
SWAGLAND HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!" about fifty times.. or one of Newstyle's endless dot
biffs. If you can't understand it, that's not my problem.
Another thing, I have been recently logging in with a fake account on
Swagland, doing the EXACT SAME thing I do with my Dark Dr. X account, and NO
ONE even cared to bug me about it! It seems that MY HANDLE is the bias. No one
CARES WHAT I DO. THEY CARE (in the evil sense) ABOUT MY HANDLE. Now that I am
out in the real world, I have to say it ten to twenty times a day, so saying
it here won't wreck anything.
